This is a post Chandni had tagged me for – oh, about a month ago. And since I’m never in the mood to go into the details of why I haven’t been blogging – especially since there’s mostly no particular reason, and also many reasons at the same time. Yes, cryptic – that’s me. 🙂 Also, WOOZY – that’s also me. Mainly with all the painkillers I’m on right now. Nope – no details about that either. That’s fodder for a separate post (read: rant). And tags are the easiest kind of posts to do anyway – especially when you feel like blogging but can’t think of what to write about. Or when your brain’s too addled with the effects of the painkillers.

So, anyhoo…here goes…

What this tag entails is to do an image search for each of my answers, and choose an image from the first page and post it here.

1. The age you will be on your next birthday: 27

2. A place you’d like to travel to: Morocco

3. Your favourite place: Home

4. Your favourite food: Mutton curry and rice

5. Your favourite drink: Whiskey and soda

6. Your favourite pet: Cats and Dogs

7. Your favourite colour combination: Fuchsia and Orange (yes, I know – I am disco like that).

8. Your favourite piece of clothing: Sari

9. Your all-time-favourite song: I Believe in You – Don Williams

10. Your favourite TV show: Friends

11. Full name of your significant other: Pride

12. The town in which you live: Noida

13. Your screen-name: Threedrinksahead – all the pictures in the image search are from my phot0 blog – what to do!

14. Your first job: Television journalist

15: Your dream job: Animal Care (The first picture says it all, but I couldn’t resist posting the second one too.)

helping-hand-animal-care-logo dogpic1

16: Bad habit you have: Procrastination

17: Your worst fear: Losing loved ones

18: The one thing you want to do before you die: Too many things really. The one thing that comes to mind first is to have and bring up two happy, confident children.

“real soon” = 12 days!

“There’s even a tag waiting, and I shall get to that real soon too.”

But, of course, “real soon” in my world has come to mean – after twelve days!

Shall do the tag first, and then – yes! – more updates.

RULE #1: People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
RULE #2: Tag 6 people to do this quiz and those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by continue this game by sending it to other people.

1. If your lover betrayed you, what will your reaction be?
I’d be hurt obviously, and it would take time to get over the hurt, but I’d move on. No point lingering on in something that isn’t working, or isn’t meant to be.

2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?
Only one? Damn! Okay – then maybe that we’d all realise that polluting the Earth will mean leaving a really bad world behind for our children.

3. Whose butt would you like to kick?
Hmmm…at the moment, only one name comes to mind. Pity I can’t say it here! (Chandni, you know who I mean.)

4. What would you do with a billion dollars?
Travel. Buy a house and do it up nicely. Shop – for myself and the people I love. Err, yeah – try and save some of it too.

5. Will you you fall in love with your best friend?
I did.

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
Everyone loves someone. But being truly loved by someone is something many people never experience. I believe that I ma very, very lucky to have at least five people who love me unconditionally.

7. How long do you intend to wait for someone you really love?
I don’t know. Maybe till I get over the person. Maybe till the person comes to me. Maybe till I fall in love with someone else.

8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
What could I do?? Move on.

9. If you’d like to act with someone, who will it be? Your GF/BF or an actress/actor?
Shahrukh Khan!!

10. What takes you down the fastest?
People I love being sad or unwell. And not feeling satisfied and happy at work. People expecting me to be unlike how I really am.

11. How would you see yourself in ten years time?
Happy, with two kids, pets, G, and a nice home with a big garden. And my parents and brother close by. And a satisfying career. Yes – I want it all!

12. What’s your fear?
Losing the people I love. Nothing that scares me more than that.

13. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Chandni – Intelligent. Nice. Fun.

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor?
Single and rich.

15. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Look out of the window, smile, stretch, snuggle in with G, and go back to sleep.

16. Would you give all in a relationship?
Yes. Except that tiny part of me, which is the core that everyone has that belongs only to them – the part with the self-respect, integrity, compassion and honesty.

17. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
The one who makes me feel like I’m “at home” when I’m with him.

18. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing the someone has done?
Forgive maybe. Forgetting, though, would depend on how horrible the thing done was.

19.Do you prefer being single or having a relationship?
Nothing better than that warm feeling that fills you up when you are in a relationship.

20. List 6 people to tag:

  1. Sreya
  2. Parul
  3. Perakath
  4. eM
  5. Unmana
  6. G – even though he doesn’t have a blog, as a guest post here on mine.

As soon as I logged into my Google Reader blog list this morning, the first post I came across was a tag that Anamika had done. She tagged anyone who’d like to take up the tag, and I thought maybe this tag could pull me out of blog lethargy. So, here goes…

I am: sensitive / funny / intelligent / a good friend / a good cook / perfect
I think: I should learn to look not so irritated when I am irritated with someone
I know: how lucky I am
I want: to spend a lot more time with family
I have: the best family in the world
I wish: I could take a holiday right now – somewhere in the hills.
I hate: hypocrites
I miss: summer holidays, like in school
I fear: death – my own and of the people I love
I feel: the happiest when I’m around animals
I hear: my Mom calling out to me when I’m sleeping sometimes. I wake up in the middle of the night with this feeling, and call her that very instant, and find out that she was upset or missing me. I believe that we still haven’t broken the umbilical cord bond.
I smell: everything I eat. I won’t eat it if it doesn’t smell good.
I crave: thin slices of raw mango with salt and red chilli powder
I search: for things I’ve seen lying around at home a million times, but can’t find the minute that I actually need them
I wonder: what it is that makes people react the way they do
I regret: not being able to spend enough time with the people I love the most – Mom, Papa, Saahil, G, my Naani.
I love: unconditionally
I ache: when I see children growing up not knowing what it is like to dance in the rain, or look for earthworms in the mud, or bathe a dog, or float paper boats – with parents who have no time to give them
I care: deeply
I am not: a hypocrite
I believe: in the goodness of people
I dance: with Papa
I sing: whenever I know the lyrics of the song playing – and always when I’m in the car
I cry: either by myself, or in front of the 5 people I love the most
I don’t always: brush my teeth before I go to bed.
I fight: with G
I write: this blog, and I wish I had the time to start writing more often
I win: the confidence of any animal surprisingly easily
I lose: my patience (very!) easily
I never: eat what I do not like. Yes – I am very fussy about food. But that’s ‘coz I love food so much that I can’t eat what is not nice.
I always: say good night before I sleep, and good morning when I wake up
I confuse: people’s names and faces
I listen: to everyone but only do what I think is right
I can usually be found: in office. That’s where I spend 12-14 hours of my day. I wish I was usually to be found elsewhere.
I am scared: of losing the people I can’t do without
I need: to get a kick out of my work, else I just can’t work
I am happy about: a lot of things, actually
I imagine: having a pretty house with a garden, two kids, and two big dogs, my two cats. And oh, if possible – two horses also.

I tag: Eastman, Dipali, Chandni, and the Mad Momma

Bag Tales

Have been dying to do this tag, but just haven’t had the time. Here goes now…

I alternate between two bags actually. One is a blue denim Levis backpack which I’d bought in a moment of insanity, but I really love it still. The bag I usually carry though is this black and tan leather one, that Mom had bought me early last year. It’s black and tan, so goes with most colours in clothes and shoes. It looks deceptively compact, but I am usually able to stuff a lot of things into it. And that’s my kind of bag – the kind that one can stuff a lot of useless essentials into. 😀

Anyway, at this moment, my bag contains (in no particular order of importance):

  • My camera, in the camera bag, which also carries extra sets of batteries, a bluetooth adaptor, and the installation CD for the bluetooth adaptor. All of this is, of course, horribly bulky – but I insist on carrying my camera with me. Always. (I just realised – this makes my camera the equivalent of Linus’ blanket. I wonder what a psychologist would make of that.)
  • Money, loose coins, passport size photos, debit cards – all inside one of the pockets of the bag. My waller got stolen a few months back – and I haven’t bought a new one since.
  • Ticket stubs from some movie that we saw quite a few months back obviously, because even the ink has faded into oblivion.
  • One Revlon Fabuliner eyeliner, one Revlon Fabulash mascara, two Revlon ColourStay lipsticks (one called Smoothest Wine, and the other Mocha Silk), another Revlon lipstick called Coffee Break, one Revlon compact, a Pure Poison body moisturiser (which I absolutely love!), Nivea hand cream, a flat toothed comb and a hair brush, one compact little mirror, one of those sets that have a collection of eyeshadow and blusher shades in it, and a brush to apply this with, my contact lens case, along with a pair of spectacles, and my sunglasses. (WHEW! That’s a lot – I know! This is because when I leave home in the morning, I have no idea of the evening’s plans mostly, and this…erm…’emergency kit’ has saved me on many a occassion, when I may not have been dressed to the nines, but with a little bit of very neutral make-up I have managed to look like I made at least a little effort. Though normally, I do always wear eyeliner and a neutral lipstick.)
  • ATM receipts. Lots of them. (Note to self: Must throw these out. And must stop collecting.)
  • One necklace and ear rings make of seeds. (Yes, I did say seeds.) A colleague got me this from Shantiniketan, and it’s STILL in my bag. Must remember to take it out when I get home tonight.
  • One book called State of Poetry, by Roger McGough.
  • One diary to note down stuff.
  • My cheque book.
  • My phone charger.
  • Two camera tapes. (Must return to office library.)
  • A box of my visiting cards.
  • A pair of earphones for my Nokia phone.

See? I told you it fits in a lot! 😀

More about ME! :)

Tagged by Chandni to write more about the favourite-est topic on this blog – ME!

Ten things you wish you could say to people right now (don’t take names):

  1. I wish there was a way of telling you how much I love you. All four of you. (Ah. You know who I’m talking about, four-of-you – don’t you? 🙂 )
  2. I wish you would just come back to India now.
  3. I wish you’d get back to being my best-est friend.
  4. I wish we hadn’t drifted apart.
  5. I still feel hurt that you were more important to me, than I ever was to you.
  6. Oh, stop being so inane!
  7. I hate that you taught me what hate is.
  8. Don’t “tell” me to do things. I sure as hell won’t do them then.
  9. I wish you and I were closer than we are. I wish we could spend more time together too.
  10. I’ve always wanted us to go on a holiday together – just you and me. Let’s go. Really.

Nine things about yourself:

  1. It takes very little to make me happy.
  2. Even if I shout and scream at someone, the anger lasts only as long as the shouting lasts. If you keep hurting long after that, chances are I won’t even realise that you are – because I’m back to normal a few minutes after I’ve finished shouting.
  3. I love books. I love the smell of a new book. My dream was to own a bookshop – but then I know I would never ever sell those books. I’d live in the middle of them – forever
  4. My pets are extremely precious to me. I love them like my babies. I love that they’re dependent on me (in a strange way), and I love that being around me makes them happy. If you don’t like them as much, you should try and never say that to me.
  5. I love food. Looking at me, you wouldn’t think I do – but I really can eat! And do. But again, I am very choosy about what I will eat. If there isn’t good food, I’d rather not eat at all.
  6. I will never be rude with anyone. Even if I can’t stand the person. And if you ever think I’m being rude, believe me when I say that I don’t mean to be. It probably sounded that way to you. But I am incapable of being rude. Really.
  7. I have a compulsive need to be liked. Err…okay, maybe not a compulsive need, but I can’t get over it when someone doesn’t like me
  8. Things are usually quite sorted in my head. And I often wish the rest of the world would see things as clearly too.
  9. I trust people very easily. And I often have my heart broken. But I will still never stop trusting most people.

Eight ways to win your heart:

  1. Be a feminist.
  2. Completely love animals. All animals.
  3. Own lots and lots of books – and love reading.
  4. Cook well. 😀
  5. Be sensitive.
  6. Be smart. And witty.
  7. Write well.
  8. Stand up for yourself – and for those who can’t stand up for themselves.

Seven things that cross your mind a lot:

  1. Mom and Papa
  2. Saahil
  3. Little things from my childhood
  4. When will we have a nice home with a big garden?
  5. I wish I could buy that for her/him/myself!
  6. I wish I had time to start writing. Professionally.
  7. When can I next take a holiday with everyone together?

Six things you wish you never did:

  1. Started smoking. Have completely stopped now though. And very proud of myself. 🙂
  2. Snapped at Mom and Papa and Saahil and G and Naani – when I was actually stressed out about something else.
  3. Gone back to sleep that night when Candy wanted me to stay up with her babies.
  4. Not enjoyed college enough.
  5. Not said the things I’d wanted to.
  6. Letting bitterness into my life.

Five Turn offs:

  1. Body Odour
  2. Attitude – of the wrong kind – the one that is for no reason.
  3. MCPs
  4. Religion
  5. Not ‘feeling‘ enough, or being too blase’ to feel anything.

Four turn ons:

  1. The wet earth smell when it rains
  2. Flirting
  3. Passionate, intelligent conversation
  4. A really good cologne. One that I really like – Gucci Nobile

Three things you want to do before you die:

  1. Travel all over Europe. Preferably backpack – not sure if I have it in me to do that though.
  2. Have children, and bring them up to be happy, confident people.
  3. Learn how to play the Guitar and/or sing in tune.

Two smileys that describe you:

  1. : )
  2. >: D<

One confession:

Nothing really.

I tag: Whoever wants to take this up. (Especially since Arvind, Tanzila and Anvita – the idiots – never take up anything I tag them for!)
