…that’s all I seem to be blogging about lately.

So, where have I been?

There was first some business about an out-of-court settlement of a property, which gave us many days and nights of grief and tension. Then, it finally happened, and went surprisingly well.

That very day, G’s dad had a bit of a heart problem. Okay, not just “a bit” of it. He was in the CCU for a few days, and then in the hospital room for another few. Thankfully, my Mom was here the day it happened, and it was detected in time. Err, yeah – she’s a Doctor.

And then there was some pretty unbelievable crap happening at work, which still isn’t all sorted out.

All in all, have had a busy couple of weeks. And, have been promising myself and other people that I shall get back to blogging soon, but it just hadn’t happened. There’s even a tag waiting, and I shall get to that real soon too.

Meanwhile, some new photos up on the photoblog: Janpath Junk, Dilli Sunrise, G, Emptiness, and Silhouetted.

Also, a few pictures of the crazy cats here. This is how my cats sleep. Does anybody else think it incredibly weird and also cute at the same time? And, yes – they do have their own bed, but they insist on sleeping on ours, until someone tells them to go sleep in their own.

And, err – yes. I agree we do take a tad too many pictures of our cats…!

I would’ve been a totally different person if it wasn’t for you, Papa. And no – I don’t just mean the bat ears and the eye bags that your genes are responsible for!. *hmph*

I also mean the love of books, of knowledge, the sense of integrity, compassion, the ability to love someone unconditionally, independence, a sense of adventure – for all of this, and for being my best friend: Thanks!

There was a tag going around some time back with people putting up pictures of their homes. I remember seeing Dipali’s two posts and Kiran’s post – with pictures of their beautiful homes.

Since I’ve finally gotten around to taking pictures of our new place, am taking up this tag too.

That’s the cooler in the drawing room on the left. The smell of the khus pads in the cooler reminds me of childhood and summer holidays and lying in front of the cooler all afternoon with a book.

The vertical shelf that you can see through the leaves used to be a horizontal shoe rack. I got it polished and stood it up straight, and I think it looks quite nice now.

Those little chairs are actually not so comfortable to sit on, but they’re the first piece of furniture that G and I had bought together – about three years ago, from the Surajkund fair.

That’s the balcony that our bedroom opens into. This is where I start my day from, and end my day with. From the morning cup of coffee to the late night drink – it’s all in this balcony.

In the foreground, is one of the chairs out of the cane set that Mom had got us just before we got married. And, that’s Gabriel trying to look out, and there’s the first flower we’ve had in the new house.

Our bedroom. I love the blue curtains, blue bed spread, orange cushions, and the money plant.

G insisted, while I was making it, that it looked
like a 10 year old had made it. After I was done with it, though,
he did admit it actually looked nice.
Oh, and he helped too.

…have absolutely no idea of regular sleep patterns or meal cycles.

This is Xena and Gabriel asleep – till 12:30 p.m. – on our bed – as G and I oversleep on a Saturday morning…

…One would think they’d wake up the time they usually do and be meowing for their fish and roti and waking us up…!!

At home today – with a very sore back. Today’s the 4th day and the backache refuses to subside. Mom and G are finally making me go to the Orthopedic today.

Had a very fun time yesterday though. Took my cousins, and two of their friends for a picnic. We went to Humayun’s Tomb. Had wanted to take S and K for a picnic since a long time. One, because they’re two of the cutest and smartest kids I’ve ever known (…and I say this not ‘coz they’re my cousins! Believe me!). And two, ‘coz I knew they’d love it, and so would I. The third (secret) reason was also that – well, lately – I have been thinking more and more about how I really want to have a baby. I know that we can’t – right now. For various reasons. But, I really, really want to. And, this isn’t a recent thing either – have always known I’d love to have a baby. And surprisingly, the whole “responsibility” thing doesn’t scare me, like it does G. He’s freaked out about me feeling this way, obviously.
